Please watch for donation letters each October.
Our next fundraising event is the Annual Night at the Races on Saturday, April 4th, 2009. The fun starts with a buffet-style dinner at 6:30 PM, as well as snacks, soft drinks and beer all free with admission. The racing action starts at 7:30, in addition to which, there will be a Chinese Auction with great gifts donated by local merchants, card games, chuck-a-luck, pull-off tickets and other entertaining diversions. The cost of admission is just $10 per person. For just $12, you can get a horse and the cost of one admission; for just $20, a horse and admission for two. The owner of the winning horse in each race receives $30. Tickets are available from any Fire Department member. Hope to see you there!
On May 30th – June1st, 2009 will be the celebration of Darlington Days. The fun starts Friday night at 8:00 with a polo match under the lights. Finally, the Darlington Township VFD is pleased to announce the purchase, with the financial support of the Darlington Township Supervisors, of a 2009 Pierce Velocity fire engine. This new engine will supplement the current fire engine, a 1984 Pierce Dash. The new engine will be available for public viewing during the Darlington Days events. This new apparatus will be equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and safety features enabling the Department to effectively respond to the wide variety of emergencies which we are faced with now and in the future. By updating our equipment and apparatus, we can better serve you, the community, in the years to come.
We thank you for your continuing support.
